Asia Invented Pasta - believe it!
Tuesday, September 8
Here's a fun row to start at your next dinner party: pasta isn't really Italian!
We know, we know. But before Italy ever twirled a fork, Asia was already deep in the noodle game: hand-pulled noodles in China, thick udon in Japan, chewy rice cakes in Korea, and delicate wonton wrappers folded around just about everything. Archaeologists have even dug up a bowl of noodles in China thought to be around 4,000 years old. That's a lot of slurping before Bologna showed up.
Come finish the job with us
Pasta went on a very long journey to reach your plate. From Chinese noodle stalls to Italian kitchens and, finally, home to Sumo. Pull up a chair, grab your chopsticks (or a fork, we don't judge), and taste what happens when East and West stop arguing and start eating.
Asia invented pasta. We just finished the job.
